Hushmat sound deadening and silencer megabond thermal barrier material applied to the underside of the engine cover provide over 50% noise reduction. hushmat reduces the engine noise so you enjoy a much quieter boating experience and have conversation without yelling.. I used the sound deadening foam sheets sold at west marine on my engine cover and forward bulk head. i can't find the link right now but i can tell you that i found minimal reduction in noise. it seems that in our classic boats the noise resonates through the hull/bilges. these voids need to be foam filled!. Marine sound insulation. there’s nothing worse than taking the boat out for a spin only to have any chance at conversation completely drowned out by engine noise..

Before the dynamat installation i could not hear my exhaust, only the engine noise coming through the cockpit floor. after installing the dynamat about 80% of the sound i hear is from the engine exhaust and 20% of the sound is from the engine coming through the floor. the dynamat is expensive but it does work very well..
